Texas Hold’em has become the most widely-played poker game in casinos and poker card rooms throughout Europe and beyond thanks to increased exposure on television, on the Internet and in popular literature and films. This online casino variation of hold’em from Boss Media is played with a standard 52-card deck and pits the player against an invisible dealer – one unable to bluff! At the end of the game, the winner is the one who holds the highest-ranking five-card poker hand, formed from two hole cards and five community cards.

Ante Up
To start the game, the player places an ante bet and clicks DEAL. The player and the dealer are each dealt two pocket cards. Based on the values of these two initial cards, the player decides whether to call or fold. If the player feels his prospects are bleak, he folds and forfeits his ante bet, and the game round ends. If he calls, a flop bet, equal to double his ante, is placed on the table.

The Flop
Three community (flop) cards are then dealt face up. The player then decides whether to bet or check. If the player bets, a turn bet, equal to his ante, is placed.

The Turn
A fourth community (turn) card is then dealt face up. The player again decides whether to bet or check. If the player bets, a river bet, equal to his ante, is placed.

The River
The fifth and final community (river) card is dealt face up. In the showdown, the dealer’s hand is revealed, and the one holding the highest-ranking poker hand is deemed the winner. Those entirely new to poker will appreciate that the best-ranking poker hands of both opponents are automatically and clearly defined visually and audibly. With this valuable instructional quality, Texas Hold’em can serve as an effective means of acquainting novice poker players to basics such as universal hand rankings.
